Statement of Beliefs

We believe that there is only one true God, who is one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. At Embrace, we believe in honoring and allowing all three parts of God, and not limiting or diminishing what He can do or how He can move in our services. The God we serve and see in the Bible is holy, just, loving, and truthful, and He is the eternal Kind, Creator, and Redeemer of all on earth.

The Bible is the Spirit-inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

Humans were created in the image of God to know Him and be in fellowship with Him but, through sin, rejected Him. Sickness, death, and judgement entered the world because of sin, and our world and all creation experience the effects of sin.

However, God was not satisfied with this separation. He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, who was conceived in His mother, Mary, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was and is fully God and fully man. Jesus came into the world He created to take on the sins of the world, so He lived a sinless life and was crucified for us. Since He who knew no sin became sin for our behalf, He was resurrected and defeated death once and for all. He ascended into heaven and lives today in heaven with the Father and within the hearts of those who put their faith in Him.

We are saved by God’s grace, through faith, and no one is too far gone for God. Anyone can be made right with God and be adopted into His family through belief in Jesus as their Savior and Lord, confessing their sins, and repenting from them (aka- changing the pattern of sin through the Holy Spirit’s help). Once we accept Jesus into our hearts and lives, we are free from the power of the enemy and the effects of sin- temptation, lies, sickness, and torment.

The Holy Spirit also helps us live a holy life and minister through the gifts He bestows upon us. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:3-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers so that we can have God’s power flowing through us and so we can be His witnesses. We place equal emphasis on moving in the gifts of the Spirit, and operating in them using the fruits of the Spirit.

The Church is made up of all those who put their faith in Jesus. We exist to carry on Jesus’ ministry and advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, reclaiming God’s people for His kingdom through love, and living out the Good News of the Gospel as disciple makers for Jesus. We also believe in and try to function in the call of The Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations and baptise them and instruct them in how to walk with our Lord.

Jesus is coming, and we seek to prepare ourselves and others for His return. We believe that heaven and hell are real places, and that our lives on earth will lead either to everlasting life with God or everlasting separation from God.

Embrace Church exists to bring heaven down to earth so lives can be transformed here and now, not just once we get to heaven. It is in this that we believe we are doing what Jesus said, in the way He said to do it.
